The Prophet ﷺ disliked secret marriages until the tambourine was beaten and it was said, "We have come to you, we have come to you, so greet us and we will greet you."
حدثنا عبد الله حدثنا أبو الفضل المروزي قال حدثني ابن أبي أويس قال وحدثني حسين بن عبد الله ابن ضميرة عن عمرو بن يحيى المازني

Its isnad is sahih, via the route of Abu Fadl Marwazi, from Ibn Abu Uways, from Amr bin Yahya. It is very daif via the route of Husayn bin Abdullah bin Damrah Himyari, whom they abandoned and criticized. As for Abu Fadl Marwazi, Husayni said, "Perhaps he is Hatim bin Layth Jawhari." And in Taajil he said, "I would not rule out that he is Abbas bin Muhammad Dawri, though I lean with Ibn Hajar, indeed I am certain of it, because he stated it explicitly in several places, and because he is described as Marwazi narrating from Ibn Abu Uways." He is considered trustworthy, and his name is Ismail bin Abdullah bin Abu Uways. The hadith has already appeared at 16075, and here it is among the additional narrations.
