Its isnad is daif due to a break between Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman Tufawi and the story, since there is a long gap between them. As for Salt bin Masud bin Tarif Jahdari the judge, they deemed him trustworthy, and he has a narration in Muslim.Ibn Saad narrated it in Tabaqat 8/240, edited by Atta, from al-Aas bin Amr Tufawi from his paternal aunt, but he is unknown, as they said. Haythami said in 8/95 that he is obscure. It appears in both Tabarani and Ibn Saad with a single isnad, so according to Haythami's statement it rises to the level of hasan, or at the very least it is only slightly daif.
