He heard a man, meaning the Prophet ﷺ, reciting "Say, O you disbelievers" [Kafirun 109:1]. He said, "As for this one, he has been freed from polytheism."Then he heard another reciting "Say, He is Allah, the One" [Ikhlas 112:1]. He said, "As for this one, he has been forgiven."
قال حدثنا الأسود بن عامر قال حدثنا شريك عن مهاجر الصائغ
أنه سمع رجلا يعني النبي ﷺ يقرأ قل يا أيها الكافرون قال أما هذا فقد برئ من الشرك وسمع آخر يقرأ قل هو الله أحد فقال أما هذا فقد غفر له
