Abu Sahla reported,

A man led some people in prayer and spat toward the qiblah while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was watching. When he finished, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He shall not lead you in prayer."Afterwards, the man wanted to lead them in prayer again, but they prevented him and told him what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said. The man mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who replied, "Yes." And I think he said, "You have offended Allah and His Messenger."

قال حدثنا سريج بن النعمان قال حدثنا عبد الله بن وهب عن عمرو بن الحارث عن بكر بن سوادة الجذامي عن صالح بن خيوان

عن أبي سهلة السائب بن خلاد

أن رجلا أم قوما فبصق في القبلة ورسول الله ﷺ ينظر فقال رسول الله ﷺ حين فرغ لا يصل لكم فأراد بعد ذلك أن يصلي لهم فمنعوه وأخبروه بقول رسول الله ﷺ فذكر ذلك لرسول الله ﷺ فقال نعم وحسبت أنه قال آذيت الله عز وجل
