I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then I moved aside to the shade of a tree. When the crowd around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had thinned, he said, "Ibn al-Akwa, will you not pledge allegiance?"I replied, "I have already pledged, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Pledge again."So I pledged allegiance to him a second time.Yazid said, I asked, "Abu Muslim, on what basis were you pledging allegiance that day?"He answered, "On death."
قال حدثنا مكي بن إبراهيم قال حدثنا يزيد بن أبي عبيد
بايعت رسول الله ﷺ ثم عدلت إلى ظل شجرة فلما خف الناس عن رسول الله ﷺ قال يا ابن الأكوع ألا تبايع قلت قد بايعت يا رسول الله قال وأيضا قال فبايعته الثانية قال يزيد فقلت يا أبا مسلم على أي شيء تبايعون يومئذ قال على الموت
