Yazid bin Abu Ubayd reported,

I asked Salama bin Akwa, "On what did you pledge allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Hudaybiyah?"He replied, "We pledged to him on death."

قلت لسلمة بن الأكوع على أي شيء بايعتم رسول الله ﷺ يوم الحديبية قال بايعناه على الموت
