Salama bin Akwa reported,

A spy from the polytheists came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. After he had eaten, he slipped away.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Go after the man and kill him."The people raced after him. Ubayy could outrun a horse, so he reached the man before the others. He seized the reins of his camel, or its halter, then killed him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ awarded him the man's belongings as spoils.

قال حدثنا جعفر بن عون قال حدثنا أبو عميس

عن إياس بن سلمة بن الأكوع عن أبيه قال

جاء عين للمشركين إلى رسول الله ﷺ قال فلما طعم انسل قال فقال رسول الله ﷺ على الرجل اقتلوا قال فابتدر القوم قال وكان أبي يسبق الفرس شدا قال فسبقهم إليه قال فأخذ بزمام ناقته أو بخطامها قال ثم قتله قال فنفله رسول الله ﷺ سلبه
