Iyas bin Salama reported,

We set out with Abu Bakr bin Abu Quhafa, whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had placed in command over us. We raided the tribe of Fazara. When we drew near the water, Abu Bakr ordered us to halt and rest at the end of the night. After we had prayed the dawn prayer, Abu Bakr commanded us to launch the raid, and we killed at the watering place those whom we killed.Salama said, I then caught sight of a group of people, women and children among them, heading toward the mountain. I ran after them, fearing they would reach the mountain before me, so I shot an arrow that landed between them and the mountain. They stopped, and I brought them back, driving them before me to Abu Bakr at the water. Among them was a woman of Fazara wearing a worn leather garment, and with her was her daughter, one of the most beautiful of the Arabs.Abu Bakr awarded me her daughter as my share of the spoils. I did not so much as lift a garment from her until we returned to Madinah. I spent the night without uncovering her.The next day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met me in the market and said to me, "Salama, give me the woman."I said, "Messenger of Allah, by Allah, she has pleased me, and I have not lifted a garment from her."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell silent and left me. The following day he met me again in the market and said, "Salama, give me the woman, may Allah bless your father."I said, "Messenger of Allah, by Allah, she has pleased me, and I have not lifted a garment from her. She is yours, Messenger of Allah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then sent her to the people of Makkah, who held some Muslim captives, and he ransomed those captives in exchange for that woman.

حدثنا بهز حدثنا عكرمة بن عمار

حدثنا إياس بن سلمة قال حدثني أبي قال

خرجنا مع أبي بكر بن أبي قحافة وأمره رسول الله ﷺ علينا قال غزونا فزارة فلما دنونا من الماء أمرنا أبو بكر فعرسنا قال فلما صلينا الصبح أمرنا أبو بكر فشننا الغارة فقتلنا على الماء من قتلنا قال سلمة ثم نظرت إلى عنق من الناس فيه الذرية والنساء نحو الجبل وأنا أعدو في آثارهم فخشيت أن يسبقوني إلى الجبل فرميت بسهم فوقع بينهم وبين الجبل قال فجئت بهم أسوقهم إلى أبي بكر رضي الله عنه حتى أتيته على الماء وفيهم امرأة من فزارة عليها قشع من أدم ومعها ابنة لها من أحسن العرب قال فنفلني أبو بكر ابنتها قال فما كشفت لها ثوبا حتى قدمت المدينة ثم بت فلم أكشف لها ثوبا قال فلقيني رسول الله ﷺ في السوق فقال لي يا سلمة هب لي المرأة قال فقلت يا رسول الله والله لقد أعجبتني وما كشفت لها ثوبا قال فسكت رسول الله ﷺ وتركني حتى إذا كان من الغد لقيني رسول الله ﷺ في السوق فقال يا سلمة هب لي المرأة لله أبوك قال قلت يا رسول الله والله أعجبتني ما كشفت لها ثوبا وهي لك يا رسول الله قال فبعث بها رسول الله ﷺ إلى أهل مكة وفي أيديهم أسارى من المسلمين ففداهم رسول الله ﷺ بتلك المرأة
