He was one of the Companions of the Tree. Then he said afterward, or through a man, from Thabit bin Dahhak, that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever swears by a religion other than Islam, lying intentionally, is as he said. And whoever kills himself with something, Allah will slaughter him with it in the Fire of Hell."
قال حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن خالد عن أبي قلابة
وكان من أصحاب الشجرة ثم قال بعد أو عن رجل عن ثابت بن الضحاك عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال من حلف بملة سوى الإسلام كاذبا متعمدا فهو كما قال ومن قتل نفسه بشيء أو ذبح ذبحه الله به في نار جهنم
