Abu Salama reported,

She narrated to them that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When calamity strikes any of you, let him say, 'Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return' [Baqarah 2:156]. O Allah, with You I seek reward for my calamity, so reward me in it and replace it for me with something better."When Abu Salama died, Allah replaced him for me in my household with someone better than him.

حدثنا روح قال حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت قال حدثني ابن عمر عن أبيه عن أم سلمة أن

حدثهم أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إذا أصابت أحدكم مصيبة فليقل {إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون} اللهم عندك أحتسب مصيبتي فأجرني فيها وأبدلني بها خيرا منها فلما قبض أبو سلمة خلفني الله عز وجل في أهلي خيرا منه
