Hajjaj said in his narration, I heard Mutrafa report from his father, who said, A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "You are the master of Quraysh."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "The Master is Allah."The man said, "You are the most excellent of them in speech and the greatest of them in standing."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let one of you speak according to his own words, and let not Satan, or the satans, embolden him."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة وحجاج قال حدثنا شعبة عن قتادة وقال ابن جعفر سمعت قتادة
حجاج في حديثه قال سمعت مطرفا عن أبيه قال جاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال أنت سيد قريش فقال النبي ﷺ السيد الله فقال أنت أفضلها فيها قولا وأعظمها فيها طولا فقال رسول الله ﷺ ليقل أحدكم بقوله ولا يستجرنه الشيطان أو الشياطين
