The Prophet ﷺ said, "Let him break his fast with dates, and if he finds none, let him break it with water, for it is purifying. Every newborn boy has his aqiqah due, so remove the harm from him and shed blood on his behalf. Charity given to a relative counts twice, as charity and as Sila."
Its isnad is sahih. Hafsa bint Sirin is trustworthy, her hadith is accepted by the imams, and Rabab bint Sulay Dabiyya's hadith was accepted by them. The hadith is found among the compilers of the Sunan works, and it was mentioned previously at 12612. See Sunan Abu Dawud 2355, and Tirmidhi 695, where he said, hasan sahih. Also Ibn Majah 1699, and Darimi 2/13, number 1701.
