I was with my father at one of the watering places of the Arabs. He performed ablution and wiped over his sandals. Someone questioned him about it, and he replied, "I will not give you more than what I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do."

كنت مع أبي على ماء من مياه العرب فتوضأ ومسح على نعليه فقيل له فقال ما أزيدك على ما رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يصنع
