Abdullah bin Zubayr reported,

A man from the Ansar brought a dispute against Zubayr before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ concerning the water channels of the Harrah, which they used to irrigate their date palms.The Ansari said to Zubayr, "Let the water pass through."Zubayr refused, so the matter was brought before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Water your land, Zubayr, then let the water flow on to your neighbor."At this the Ansari grew angry and said, "Messenger of Allah, is it because he is your aunt's son?"The face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ changed color, and then he said, "Hold back the water, Zubayr, until it reaches the walls."Zubayr said, "By Allah, I believe this verse was revealed concerning that incident, 'But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you the judge of what is in dispute between them' up to His words 'and submit in full submission' [Nisa 4:65]."

عن عبد الله بن الزبير قال

خاصم رجل من الأنصار الزبير إلى رسول الله ﷺ في شراج الحرة التي يسقون بها النخل فقال الأنصاري للزبير سرح الماء فأبى فكلم رسول الله ﷺ قال رسول الله ﷺ اسق يا زبير ثم أرسل إلى جارك فغضب الأنصاري فقال يا رسول الله أن كان ابن عمتك فتلون وجهه ثم قال احبس الماء حتى يبلغ إلى الجدر قال الزبير والله إني لأحسب هذه الآية نزلت في ذلك {فلا وربك لا يؤمنون حتى يحكموك فيما شجر بينهم} إلى قوله {ويسلموا تسليما}
