Amir bin Abdullah bin Zubayr reported,

Qutayla, daughter of Abd al-Uzza bin Abd Asaad from the tribe of Banu Malik bin Hisl, came to her daughter Asma bint Abu Bakr bringing gifts of lizards, dried curd, and clarified butter, while she was still a polytheist. Asma refused to accept her gifts or to allow her into her house.Ayesha asked the Prophet ﷺ about this, and Allah revealed, "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion" [Mumtahanah 60:8] to the end of the verse. He then instructed her to accept her gifts and to allow her into her house.

عامر بن عبد الله بن الزبير عن أبيه قال

قدمت قتيلة ابنة عبد العزى بن عبد أسعد من بني مالك بن حسل على ابنتها أسماء ابنة أبي بكر بهدايا ضباب وأقط وسمن وهي مشركة فأبت أسماء أن تقبل هديتها وتدخلها بيتها فسألت عائشة النبي ﷺ فأنزل الله عز وجل {لا ينهاكم الله عن الذين لم يقاتلوكم في الدين} إلى آخر الآية فأمرها أن تقبل هديتها وأن تدخلها بيتها
