Abu Usayd al-Saidi came and invited the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to his wedding feast. His wife was serving them that day, and she was the bride.He said, "Do you know what I served the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? She had soaked some dates the night before in a stone vessel."
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا يعقوب بن عبد الرحمن عن أبي حازم قال سمعت
أتى أبو أسيد الساعدي فدعا رسول الله ﷺ في عرسه فكانت امرأته خادمهم يومئذ وهي العروس قال تدرون ما سقت رسول الله ﷺ أنقعت تمرات من الليلة في تور
Its isnad is sahih. Yaqub bin Muhammad bin Abdullah Qari Madani is thiqah and eminent, and his hadith appears in the Sahihayn. Abu Hazim is Salama bin Dinar, and Sahl is Ibn Saad Saadi, the companion. The hadith was narrated by Bukhari, 10/56, no. 5591, Fath, in the Book of Drinks, chapter on steeping dates and the like in containers, and Muslim, 3/1590, no. 2006, and Ibn Majah, 1/616, no. 1912, in the Book of Marriage, chapter on the wedding feast.
