I accompanied an elderly man from the Ansar who mentioned that he had been a companion of the Prophet. He was called Kaab bin Zayd, or Zayd bin Kaab. He told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married a woman from the tribe of Banu Ghifar. When he entered upon her, removed his garment, and sat on the bed, he noticed a white patch on her side. He drew away from the bed and said, "Take your clothes and cover yourself." He did not take back anything he had given her.
حدثنا القاسم بن مالك المزني أبو جعفر قال أخبرني
صحبت شيخا من الأنصار ذكر أنه كانت له صحبة يقال له كعب بن زيد أو زيد بن كعب فحدثني أن رسول الله ﷺ تزوج امرأة من بني غفار فلما دخل عليها وضع ثوبه وقعد على الفراش أبصر بكشحها بياضا فانحاز عن الفراش ثم قال خذي عليك ثيابك ولم يأخذ مما أتاها شيئا

Its chain of transmission is daif, because of Jameel bin Zayd Tai, whom Ibn Main and Dhahabi both declared daif. Baghawi noted confusion regarding the identification of the companion's name. Abu Hatim, Nasai, and Ibn Hibban likewise declared him daif.Jurists cite this hadith as evidence on two points, the obligation of the dower through seclusion with the wife, and treating "join your family" as a form of divorce.This hadith has a corroborating narration in Bukhari, in the story of the daughter of Jawn Kilabiyyah 9/356 Fath.
