Ghareef Daylami reported,

We came to Wathila bin Asqa al-Laythi and said, "Narrate to us a hadith you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."He said, "We came to the Prophet ﷺ concerning a companion of ours who had committed an act making Hellfire obligatory for him. He said, 'Free a slave on his behalf, and Allah will free a limb of his from the Fire for every limb of the freed slave.'"

قال حدثنا إبراهيم بن إسحاق قال حدثنا ضمرة بن ربيعة عن إبراهيم بن أبي عبلة

عن الغريف الديلمي قال

أتينا واثلة بن الأسقع الليثي فقلنا حدثنا بحديث سمعته من رسول الله ﷺ قال أتينا النبي ﷺ في صاحب لنا قد أوجب فقال أعتقوا عنه يعتق الله عز وجل بكل عضو عضوا منه من النار
