Rashid bin Hubaysh reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited Ubada bin Samit during his illness and said, "Do you know who among my nation is a martyr?"The people fell silent.Ubada said, "Prop me up." So they propped him up, and he said, "Messenger of Allah, the one who is patient and seeks reward."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The martyrs of my nation would then be few. Being killed in the path of Allah is martyrdom, the plague is martyrdom, drowning is martyrdom, dying of a stomach ailment is martyrdom, and the woman who dies in childbirth is drawn to Paradise by her child through her umbilical cord."The narrator said, Abu Awwam, the keeper of Bayt al-Maqdis, added to it, "Death by fire and by flood."

أن رسول الله ﷺ دخل على عبادة بن الصامت يعوده في مرضه فقال رسول الله ﷺ أتعلمون من الشهيد من أمتي فأرم القوم فقال عبادة ساندوني فأسندوه فقال يا رسول الله الصابر المحتسب فقال رسول الله ﷺ إن شهداء أمتي إذا لقليل القتل في سبيل الله عز وجل شهادة والطاعون شهادة والغرق شهادة والبطن شهادة والنفساء يجرها ولدها بسرره إلى الجنة قال وزاد فيها أبو العوام سادن بيت المقدس والحرق والسيل
