Rabah reported that he went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his military expeditions, with Khalid bin Walid leading the vanguard. Rabah and the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a woman who had been killed by the advance forces. They stopped to look at her, marveling at her appearance, until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ caught up with them on his mount. They parted to make way for him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stopped beside her and said, "This woman was not one who would have fought."Then he said to one of them, "Catch up with Khalid and tell him, 'Do not kill children or hired servants.'"

أنه خرج مع رسول الله ﷺ في غزوة غزاها وعلى مقدمته خالد بن الوليد فمر رباح وأصحاب رسول الله ﷺ على امرأة مقتولة مما أصابت المقدمة فوقفوا ينظرون إليها ويتعجبون من خلقها حتى لحقهم رسول الله ﷺ على راحلته فانفرجوا عنها فوقف عليها رسول الله ﷺ فقال ما كانت هذه لتقاتل فقال لأحدهم الحق خالدا فقل له لا تقتلون ذرية ولا عسيفا
