Khalid bin Lajlaj reported,

While we were in the market, a woman passed by carrying a child. The people stirred, and I stirred along with them, until I reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as he was saying to her, "Who is the father of this child?"She remained silent.He asked again, "Who is the father of this child?"She remained silent.Then a young man standing beside her said, "Messenger of Allah, she is young in age and recently came from paying the jizya, and she has not told you. I am his father, Messenger of Allah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to those around him as if asking about the man, and they said, "We know nothing of him but good," or something to that effect.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said to him, "Are you married?"He replied, "Yes."So he ordered that he be stoned. We went out and dug a pit for him until it was deep enough, then we pelted him with stones until he was still. Afterward, we returned to our gatherings.While we were sitting there, an old man came asking about the young man. We rose, seized him by his collar, and brought him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We said, "Messenger of Allah, this man came asking about the wicked one."He said, "Stop. He is more fragrant before Allah than musk."So we went and helped him wash the body, prepare its burial scent, shroud it, and dig his grave. I do not recall whether he mentioned the funeral prayer or not.

خالد بن اللجلاج أن أباه حدثه قال

بينما نحن في السوق إذ مرت امرأة تحمل صبيا فثار الناس وثرت معهم فانتهيت إلى رسول الله ﷺ وهو يقول لها من أبو هذا فسكتت فقال من أبو هذا فسكتت فقال شاب بحذائها يا رسول الله إنها حديثة السن حديثة عهد بجزية وإنها لم تخبرك وأنا أبوه يا رسول الله فالتفت إلى من عنده كأنه يسألهم عنه فقالوا ما علمنا إلا خيرا أو نحو ذلك فقال له رسول الله ﷺ أحصنت قال نعم فأمر برجمه فذهبنا فحفرنا له حتى أمكنا ورميناه بالحجارة حتى هدأ ثم رجعنا إلى مجالسنا فبينما نحن كذلك إذ أنا بشيخ يسأل عن الفتى فقمنا إليه فأخذنا بتلابيبه فجئنا به إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقلنا يا رسول الله إن هذا جاء يسأل عن الخبيث فقال مه لهو أطيب عند الله ريحا من المسك قال فذهبنا فأعناه على غسله وحنوطه وتكفينه وحفرنا له ولا أدري أذكر الصلاة أم لا
