When the verse "And warn your closest kin" [Shuara 26:214] was revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he set out to a rocky outcrop of a mountain, climbed to its summit, and called out, saying, "Children of Abd Manaf, I am a warner to you. My example and yours is like that of a man who spotted the enemy and went off to keep watch over his family, calling out," or he said, "shouting, 'A morning raid!'"My father said, Ibn Abu Adi reported this hadith from Qabisa bin Mukhariq or Wahb bin Amr, but this is a mistake. It is actually Zuhayr bin Amr. Since he made the error, I left out Wahb bin Amr.
حدثنا محمد بن أبي عدي عن سليمان يعني التيمي عن أبي عثمان يعني النهدي
لما نزلت على رسول الله ﷺ {وأنذر عشيرتك الأقربين} انطلق رسول الله ﷺ إلى رضمة من جبل فعلا أعلاها ثم نادى أو قال قال يا آل عبد منافاه إني نذير إن مثلي ومثلكم كمثل رجل رأى العدو فانطلق يربأ أهله ينادي أو قال يهتف يا صباحاه قال أبي قال ابن أبي عدي في هذا الحديث عن قبيصة بن مخارق أو وهب بن عمرو وهو خطأ إنما هو زهير بن عمرو فلما أخطأ تركت وهب بن عمرو
Its isnad is sahih. Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Abu Adi, as is correct, is trustworthy. Sulayman Taymi is Ibn Tarkhan, and Abu Uthman Nahdi is Abdul-Rahman bin Mill.The hadith was narrated at length by Bukhari, 8/737, no. 4971 (Fath al-Bari), in the tafsir of Surah Samad, and by Muslim, 1/193, no. 207, in the book of faith, concerning the words of Allah, Most High, "And warn your closest relatives" [Shuara 26:214].
