The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us on the Day of Sacrifice from atop a red she-camel of his with a slit ear, and he said, "This is the Day of Sacrifice, and this is the day of the greater pilgrimage."
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Amr bin Mura is trustworthy, one of the devout worshippers, and his hadith appears in the collections of the group, having already been mentioned frequently. As for Mura al-Tayyib, he is Mura bin Sharahil al-Hamdani, also trustworthy and one of the devout worshippers, and his hadith likewise appears in the collections of the group. The hadith was narrated similarly by Bukhari, 2/217, in the book of Hajj, regarding the sermon that will be mentioned from Ibn Umar within the hadith of the Farewell, in which it states that the day of sacrifice is the Greater Hajj. Likewise Hakim, 3/231, with a different wording, in which it states that the day of sacrifice is the day of the Greater Hajj, and he graded it sahih, and Dhahabi agreed with him. As for Abu Dawud, he narrated it with wording close to that of Ahmad, but from Ibn Umar, 2/195, number 1945, in the book of the rites of pilgrimage, "the day of the Greater Hajj." And Ibn Majah, 3058, with the same chapter, book, and wording as Bukhari.
