Umar bin Khattab came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, I passed by a brother of mine from Banu Qurayzah, and he wrote out for me some comprehensive passages from the Torah. Shall I not present them to you?"The face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ changed.Abdullah said, "I said to him, 'Do you not see what has come over the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?'"Umar said, "We are content with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad ﷺ as Messenger."The Prophet's ﷺ expression then eased, and he said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, if Musa were to appear among you and you followed him and abandoned me, you would surely go astray. You are my share of the nations, and I am your share of the prophets."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق قال أنبأنا سفيان عن جابر عن الشعبي
جاء عمر بن الخطاب إلى النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله إني مررت بأخ لي من بني قريظة فكتب لي جوامع من التوراة ألا أعرضها عليك قال فتغير وجه رسول الله ﷺ قال عبد الله فقلت له ألا ترى ما بوجه رسول الله ﷺ فقال عمر رضينا بالله ربا وبالإسلام دينا وبمحمد ﷺ رسولا قال فسري عن النبي ﷺ ثم قال والذي نفسي بيده لو أصبح فيكم موسى ثم اتبعتموه وتركتموني لضللتم إنكم حظي من الأمم وأنا حظكم من النبيين
