I brought my brother Mabad to the Prophet ﷺ after the conquest of Mecca and said, "Messenger of Allah, I have brought my brother to you so that you may take his pledge for migration."He replied, "The people of migration have already taken what it offered."I asked, "Then for what will you take his pledge?"He said, "For Islam, faith, and jihad."The narrator said, I met Mabad later, and he was the elder of the two, and asked him about it. He said, "Mujash has spoken the truth."
حدثنا أحمد بن عبد الملك بن واقد قال حدثنا زهير قال حدثنا عاصم الأحول عن أبي عثمان النهدي
قدمت بأخي معبد على النبي ﷺ بعد الفتح فقلت يا رسول الله جئتك بأخي لتبايعه على الهجرة فقال ذهب أهل الهجرة بما فيها فقلت على أي شيء تبايعه قال على الإسلام والإيمان والجهاد قال فلقيت معبدا بعد وكان هو أكبرهما فسألته فقال صدق مجاشع
