The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one is to be lashed more than ten lashes except for one of the prescribed punishments of Allah Almighty."
حدثنا هاشم وحجاج قالا حدثنا ليث يعني ابن سعد قال حدثنا يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن بكير بن عبد الله بن الأشج عن سليمان بن يسار عن عبد الرحمن بن جابر بن عبد الله
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا يجلد فوق عشر جلدات إلا في حد من حدود الله تعالى
Its isnad is sahih, all of its narrators are trustworthy, and Abdul-Rahman bin Jabir bin Abdullah is the Ansari, the son of the companion Jabir. He is trustworthy, as mentioned previously.The hadith was reported by Bukhari, 12/176, no. 1848 in Fath, in the Book of Legal Punishments, chapter on discretionary punishment, and by Muslim, 3/1332, no. 1708, and Abu Dawud, 4/167, no. 4491, and Tirmidhi, 4/63, no. 1463, who said, hasan gharib, and Ibn Majah, 2/867, no. 2601, all of them similarly to Bukhari.
