A man from among the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, one of those who pledged allegiance under the tree, reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on a journey and they had no food with them. Some parched barley flour was brought, so they chewed a little of it and drank from it. Then water was brought and they rinsed their mouths. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then stood and prayed.

رجلا من أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ من أصحاب الشجرة قال كان رسول الله ﷺ في سفر فلم يكن عندهم طعام قال فأتوا بسويق فلاكوا منه وشربوا منه ثم أتوا بماء فمضمضوا ثم قام رسول الله ﷺ فصلى

And Malik in Muwatta 1/26, no. 20, in the book of purification, chapter on foregoing wudu after eating something touched by fire.
