Kaab bin Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The soul of the Muslim is a bird that perches on the trees of Paradise until Allah returns it to its body on the Day He resurrects him."

حدثنا عثمان بن عمر قال أخبرنا يونس عن الزهري

عن عبد الرحمن بن كعب عن أبيه

أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إنما نسمة المسلم طير يعلق بشجر الجنة حتى يرجعه الله تبارك وتعالى إلى جسده يوم يبعثه
