A physician mentioned a remedy in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned that a frog would be put into it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then forbade the killing of frogs.
حدثنا يزيد قال أخبرنا ابن أبي ذئب عن سعيد بن خالد عن سعيد بن المسيب
ذكر طبيب عند رسول الله ﷺ دواء وذكر الضفدع يجعل فيه فنهى رسول الله ﷺ عن قتل الضفدع
Its isnad is sahih, its narrators are all leading authorities. The hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud 4/368, no. 5269, in the chapter on manners, killing the frog, and Nasai 7/210, no. 4355, in the chapter on hunting, the frog, and Ibn Majah 2/1074, no. 3223, and Darimi 2/121, no. 1998, and Ibn Abu Shayba 7/450, no. 3761, and Tayalisi 163, and Hakim 4/411, with Dhahabi agreeing with him, and Bayhaqi 9/318.
