He saw Muhammad al-Qurashi stand up dragging his lower garment, so Hubayb looked at him and said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever lets his garment trail along the ground out of arrogance will tread with it in the Fire.'"
حدثنا هارون بن معروف حدثنا ابن وهب يعني عبد الله بن وهب المصري قال عبد الله وسمعته أنا من هارون حدثنا عمرو بن الحارث عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن أسلم أبي عمران
أنه رأى محمدا القرشي قام يجر إزاره فنظر إليه هبيب فقال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من وطئه خيلاء وطئه في النار
Its isnad is sahih. All its narrators are Egyptians who are trustworthy, except for Harun bin Maruf the hafiz, who was from Marw and settled in Baghdad. As for Abdullah bin Wahb, he was a trustworthy jurist, and likewise Amr bin Harith the Egyptian, Abu Ayub the hafiz, and Yazid bin Abu Habib was also a jurist and one of the well known Egyptian hafiz scholars. Aslam is the son of Yazid, Abu Imran Tujaybi the Egyptian, trustworthy according to them, and he has a hadith in the Sunan. Haythami said in Majma al-Zawaid 5/124, its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Abu Imran, who is trustworthy.
