The Prophet ﷺ said, "The best charity, or the most excellent charity, is that which is given while the giver still has enough to live on. The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin with those whom you support."
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد قال حدثنا عمرو بن عثمان قال سمعت موسى بن طلحة أن
قال النبي ﷺ خير الصدقة أو أفضل الصدقة ما أبقت غنى واليد العليا خير من اليد السفلى وابدأ بمن تعول
Its isnad is sahih. Amr bin Uthman is Ibn Abdullah bin Mawhab, the freedman of Musa bin Talha. All of them are trustworthy narrators, and the hadith has already appeared at 15254.
