He said, Nafi informed me that he heard Abu Lubabah inform Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the killing of snakes.

Its isnad is sahih. Ubaydullah bin Umar is the son of Hafs bin Asim, a reliable, firmly established, and knowledgeable jurist. The hadith was narrated in full by Bukhari, 6/350, no. 3312, Fath al-Bari, in the beginning of creation, the best property of a Muslim, by Muslim, 4/1753, no. 2233, in greetings, killing snakes, and by Abu Dawud, 4/264, no. 5253, and by Tirmidhi, 4/78, no. 1485, who said, "Hasan gharib."
