I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid three things, pecking like a crow, spreading the forearms on the ground like a wild beast, and a man designating a fixed spot in the mosque for prayer just as a camel marks its own resting place.
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن عبد الحميد قال حدثني أبي عن تميم بن محمود
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ ينهى عن ثلاث عن نقرة الغراب وعن افتراش السبع وأن يوطن الرجل المقام كما يوطن البعير
Its chain is daif, and its weakness is slight because of Tamim bin Mahmud. Bukhari said, "There is something questionable about him." Ibn Hibban mentioned him in al-Thiqat, and I did not find anyone else who deemed him reliable.As for Abdul-Hameed, he is Ibn Jafar bin Abdullah bin Hakam al-Ansari, who is reliable, as is his father, and their hadith is found in Muslim.The hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud with similar wording (1/228, no. 862), Nasai (2/214, no. 1112), Ibn Majah (1/459, no. 1429), and Darimi (1/348, no. 1323). Hakim graded it sahih (1/229), and Dhahabi agreed with him, by way of this same Tamim. It is also found in Ibn Abu Shayba (2/91) through his route as well.
