Saad was asked about exchanging hulled barley for regular barley, or something similar, and he replied, "The Prophet ﷺ was asked about exchanging dried dates for fresh dates. He asked, 'Do fresh dates decrease in volume when they dry?' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Then no.'"

Its isnad is sahih. Ismail bin Umaya bin Amr bin Saeed al-Umawi was from Makkah and was trustworthy. The authors of the six books narrated from him. This hadith is a repetition of 1544.
