Ibn Umm Maktum reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to the mosque and noticed that the congregation was thin. He said, "I have a mind to appoint someone to lead the people in prayer, then go out and burn down the houses of those who stay behind from the prayer."Ibn Umm Maktum said, "Messenger of Allah, between me and the mosque there are palm trees and other trees, and I cannot always find someone to guide me. Would it be acceptable for me to pray in my house?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Do you hear the call to prayer?"He replied, "Yes."He said, "Then come to it."

أن رسول الله ﷺ أتى المسجد فرأى في القوم رقة فقال إني لأهم أن أجعل للناس إماما ثم أخرج فلا أقدر على إنسان يتخلف عن الصلاة في بيته إلا أحرقته عليه فقال ابن أم مكتوم يا رسول الله إن بيني وبين المسجد نخلا وشجرا ولا أقدر على قائد كل ساعة أيسعني أن أصلي في بيتي قال أتسمع الإقامة قال نعم قال فأتها
