My father told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let people benefit from one another, and when one of you seeks his brother's sincere counsel, let him give him sincere counsel."

Its isnad is hasan. Ata bin Saaib was criticized regarding his memory, and it is said that he became confused toward the end of his life. Scholars differed about him here, some saying he confused the chain in this instance, and others saying that his narration is actually correct and that whoever disagreed with him was mistaken. Hakeem bin Abu Yazid was deemed reliable by Ibn Hibban, while Bukhari and Abu Hatim made no comment about him. This hadith has been mentioned before, from the hadith, "A town-dweller should not sell on behalf of a desert-dweller. Leave people to earn their livelihood from one another." See also hadith 7941.
