Umar bin Khattab reported,
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians exaggerated in praising Isa, son of Maryam 
. I am only the servant of Allah and His Messenger."

Sahihحدثنا هشيم قال زعم الزهري عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة بن مسعود عن ابن عباس
عن عمر رضي الله عنه
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا تطروني كما أطرت النصارى عيسى ابن مريم عليه السلام فإنما أنا عبد الله ورسوله
Its isnad is sahih. Hushaym bin Bashir Wasiti is a trustworthy authority, though scholars have criticized his hearing from Zuhri, saying that he heard a written collection from him which flew away from him, so he retained only a little of it, and that he practices tadlis in some of his narrations. His saying here "Zuhri claimed" may support the view that he did not hear it directly from him, but the hadith has come through other chains from Zuhri, which shows that it is sahih from him. Hushaym is with a dammah on the ha. Bashir is with a fatha on the ba. See 164, 331, 391.
