I was sleeping in the mosque on a cloak of mine when it was stolen. We caught the thief and brought him to the Prophet ﷺ, who ordered that his hand be cut off.I said, "Messenger of Allah, over a cloak worth thirty dirhams? I will give it to him as a gift, or sell it to him."He replied, "Why did you not do that before bringing him to me?"

كنت نائما في المسجد على خميصة لي فسرقت فأخذنا السارق فرفعناه إلى النبي ﷺ فأمر بقطعه فقلت يا رسول الله أفي خميصة ثمن ثلاثين درهما أنا أهبها له أو أبيعها له قال فهلا كان قبل أن تأتيني به
Its isnad is sahih. Husayn bin Muhammad bin Bahram Marwazi is trustworthy, and Sulayman bin Qurm was deemed trustworthy despite his poor memory, but he is corroborated here. Juayd is Ibn Abdul-Rahman bin Aws, who is trustworthy, and he is also called Jad, which is the more common name, as he is sometimes attributed to his grandfather.
