Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

He informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that whenever a man grants a lifetime gift to another for himself and his descendants, saying, "I have given it to you and your descendants for as long as any of you remain," then it belongs (Abu Bakr said, "to the one to whom he gave it," and Abdul-Razzaq said, "to the one he gave it to"), and it does not revert to its original owner, because he made it a gift to which the laws of inheritance apply.

أخبره أن رسول الله ﷺ قضى أيما رجل أعمر عمرى له ولعقبه فقال قد أعطيتكها وعقبك ما بقي منكم أحد فإنما هي قال أبو بكر لمن أعطاها وقال عبد الرزاق لمن أعطيها وإنها لا ترجع إلى صاحبها من أجل أنه أعطاها عطاء وقعت فيه المواريث
