Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when he drew a line in front of him like this and said, "This is the path of Allah ." Then he drew two lines on his right and two lines on his left and said, "These are the paths of Satan." Then he placed his hand on the middle line and recited this verse, "And this is My straight path, so follow it and do not follow other paths, for they will separate you from His path. This He has commanded you, that you may be conscious of Him" [Anam 6:153].

حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن مجالد عن الشعبي

عن جابر قال

كنا جلوسا عند النبي ﷺ فخط خطا هكذا أمامه فقال هذا سبيل الله عز وجل وخطين عن يمينه وخطين عن شماله قال هذه سبيل الشيطان ثم وضع يده في الخط الأسود ثم تلا هذه الآية {وأن هذا صراطي مستقيما فاتبعوه ولا تتبعوا السبل فتفرق بكم عن سبيله ذلكم وصاكم به لعلكم تتقون}
