The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by them while they were gathering arak fruit. A man offered him some of what he had picked, and he said, "If I were in a state of ablution, I would eat it."

أن رسول الله ﷺ مر بهم وهم يجتنون أراكا فأعطاه رجل جني أراك فقال لو كنت متوضئا أكلته

Its chain of transmission is daif, due to the unknown identity of the narrator who transmitted from Jabir, and Ahmad alone narrated this hadith.As for the phrase "the fruit of the arak tree," it means the produce of the arak tree, the arak being the tree whose branches are used as tooth-sticks (siwak), and it has fruit which the people of Hijaz eat.
