We set out for Medina during the time of the Battle of the Camel and met Saad bin Malik there. He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that the doors opening into the mosque be closed, except for the door of Ali, which was left open."
Its chain of transmission is daif. Abdullah bin Ruqaym, with the diminutive form, al-Kinani, is unknown. Nasai narrated a hadith from him in al-Khasais, and said, "I do not know him." Bukhari said, "There is something questionable about him."Abdullah bin Sharik Amiri, of Kufah, is trustworthy. Ahmad, Ibn Main, and Abu Zura declared him trustworthy, while Nasai, in al-Duafa, said, "He is not strong, a follower of Mukhtar," meaning he was among the companions of Mukhtar the liar, and this was at the beginning of his affair, but he later repented, as stated in al-Mizan. He was marked in al-Tahdhib 5:252 with the symbol ain sad, but this is a printing error, the correct symbol being ba sin, as given in al-Taqrib and al-Khulasah.Qatr is Ibn Khalifah. The hadith is found in Majma al-Zawaid 9:114, where it is also attributed to Abu Yaala, Bazzar, and Tabarani in al-Awsat, and he said, "The chain of transmission of Ahmad is hasan." But this is not so, rather it is daif, as you can see. The hadith is discussed at length by al-Hafiz in al-Qawl al-Musaddad, 16-20.
