Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

I was riding on a water-camel of mine at the rear of the caravan when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ struck it a blow, or he said, gave it a prod. After that, it would be at the front of the caravan, and I could hardly hold it back.Then the Prophet ﷺ came up to me and said, "Will you sell it to me for such-and-such, and may Allah forgive you?"I said, "It is yours, Messenger of Allah."Then he raised the price and said, "Will you sell it to me for such-and-such, and may Allah forgive you?"I said, "It is yours, Messenger of Allah."Sulayman said, I do not know how many times he said, "Will you sell it to me for such-and-such."Then he asked, "Have you married since your father passed away?"I said, "Yes."He asked, "A virgin or a previously married woman?"I said, "A previously married woman."He said, "Why did you not marry a virgin, so that you could play with her and she with you, and you could make her laugh and she could make you laugh?"

حدثنا محمد بن أبي عدي عن سليمان يعني التيمي عن أبي نضرة

عن جابر قال

كنت أسير على ناضح لي في أخريات الركاب فضربه رسول الله ﷺ ضربة أو قال فنخسه نخسة قال فكان بعد ذلك يكون في أول الركاب إلا ما كففته قال فأتاني النبي ﷺ فقال أتبيعنيه بكذا وكذا والله يغفر لك قال قلت هو لك يا رسول الله قال فزادني قال أتبيعنيه بكذا وكذا والله يغفر لك قال قلت هو لك يا رسول الله قال سليمان فلا أدري كم من مرة قال أتبيعنيه بكذا وكذا ثم قال هل تزوجت بعد أبيك قال قلت نعم قال أبكرا أم ثيبا قال قلت ثيبا قال ألا تزوجتها بكرا تلاعبك وتلاعبها وتضاحكك وتضاحكها
