Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

I fell ill, and at the time I had seven sisters. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to visit me and sprinkled water on my face, and I regained consciousness.I said, "Messenger of Allah, shall I bequeath two-thirds of my estate to my sisters?"He replied, "Better than that."I said, "Half then?"He replied, "Better than that."Then he left me and went out, then returned and said, "Jabir, I do not think you will die from this illness of yours. Allah has sent down a revelation clarifying the share of your sisters, granting them two-thirds."Jabir used to say that this verse was revealed concerning his case, "They ask you for a ruling. Say, Allah gives you a ruling concerning kalalah" [Nisa 4:176].

حدثنا أزهر بن القاسم وكثير بن هشام قالا حدثنا هشام عن أبي الزبير

عن جابر قال

اشتكيت وعندي سبع أخوات لي فدخل علي رسول الله ﷺ فنضح في وجهي فأفقت فقلت يا رسول الله أوصي لأخواتي بالثلثين قال أحسن قلت بالشطر قال أحسن قال ثم خرج وتركني ثم رجع فقال يا جابر إني لا أراك ميتا من وجعك هذا فإن الله عز وجل قد أنزل فبين الذي لأخواتك فجعل لهن الثلثين فكان جابر يقول نزلت هذه الآية في {يستفتونك قل الله يفتيكم في الكلالة}
