The plague was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, "It is a punishment that afflicted those who came before you. If it breaks out in a land, do not enter it, and if it breaks out in a land where you are, do not flee from it."

ذكر الطاعون عند رسول الله ﷺ فقال رجز أصيب به من كان قبلكم فإذا كان بأرض فلا تدخلوها وإذا كان بها وأنتم بها فلا تخرجوا منها
