The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "My example and the example of the prophets is like that of a man who kindled a fire. Moths and grasshoppers began falling into it while he tried to drive them away. I am holding you back by your waistbands from the Fire, but you keep slipping from my hands."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا سليم بن حيان أخبرنا سعيد بن ميناء
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال مثلي ومثل الأنبياء كمثل رجل أوقد نارا فجعل الفراش والجنادب يقعن فيها قال وهو يذبهن عنها قال وأنا آخذ بحجزكم عن النار وأنتم تفلتون من يدي
