The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Jabir, did you not know that Allah brought your father back to life and said to him, 'Make a wish.' He replied, 'I wish to be returned to the world so I may be killed once again.' Allah said, 'I have already decreed that they shall not return to it.'"

قال لي رسول الله ﷺ يا جابر أما علمت أن الله عز وجل أحيا أباك فقال له تمن علي فقال أرد إلى الدنيا فأقتل مرة أخرى فقال إني قضيت الحكم أنهم إليها لا يرجعون

Its chain of transmission is hasan, because of Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqeel, while Muhammad bin Ali bin Rabia has been deemed reliable by the scholars.The hadith was narrated by Tirmidhi, 5/230, no. 3010, in the tafsir of Surah Al Imran, where he said, hasan gharib, and by Ibn Majah, 1/63, no. 190, in the introduction, on what the Jahmiyyah denied, and by Abu Yaala, through the route of Sufyan, from him, 4/6, no. 2002, and by Tabari in his tafsir, 4/172, and by Humaydi, no. 1265, and by Hakim, 2/120, though Dhahabi disagreed with him regarding Fadl bin Sadaqah, who is not among the narrators of Ahmad here.
