Saad bin Abu Waqqas reported that the Prophet ﷺ came to visit him while he was ill.Saad asked, "Messenger of Allah, shall I bequeath all my wealth?"The Prophet ﷺ replied, "No."Saad asked, "Then half?"He replied, "No."Saad asked, "Then a third?"He replied, "A third, and a third is a lot," or "is great."

أن النبي ﷺ دخل عليه يعوده وهو مريض فقال يا رسول الله ألا أوصي بمالي كله قال لا قال فبالشطر قال لا قال فبالثلث قال الثلث والثلث كثير أو كبير
