The Prophet ﷺ said, "The likeness of the believer is like a stalk of grain. It bends at times and stands upright at times. And the likeness of the disbeliever is like the cedar tree. It remains standing upright until it suddenly falls without realizing it."Hasan said, "The cedar."
حدثنا موسى وحسن قالا حدثنا ابن لهيعة عن أبي الزبير
أن النبي ﷺ قال مثل المؤمن كمثل السنبلة تخر مرة وتستقيم مرة ومثل الكافر مثل الأرز لا يزال مستقيما حتى يخر ولا يشعر قال حسن الأرزة
Its chain of transmission is hasan. It is found in Bukhari 7/149, in the book of illness, in the chapter on the expiation of illness, and in Muslim 4/2163, number 2810, in the book on the description of the Day of Resurrection, in the chapter comparing the believer to a crop, and in Tirmidhi 5/150, number 2866, in the book of parables, in the chapter on what has been said about the parable of the believer, where he said, hasan sahih.
