The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever takes as patrons other than his own patrons has cast off the collar of faith from his neck."
حدثنا أبو عامر حدثنا يعقوب بن محمد بن طحلاء حدثنا خالد بن أبي حيان
أن النبي ﷺ قال من تولى غير مواليه فقد خلع ربقة الإيمان من عنقه
Its isnad is hasan because of Khalid bin Abu Hayan. Ibn Hibban rated him trustworthy, and he said that Abu Zura rated him trustworthy, while Ibn Hajar said he did not rate him trustworthy but only said he was from Madinah, though no one has criticized him. The hadith has already appeared at 9367.
